The aroma from the kitchen crept me in…I could literally feel the fresh fries dancing in the fryer! It may be like another neighborhood joint or sound like one, but Burgerazzi is anything but……….!
I wandered around my neighborhood, Thakur village market, on a rainy afternoon after a power nap. Since I had a deep urge to have something sinful and totally indulging, one glance at the attractive signage and inviting interiors couldn’t stop me from stepping into Burgerazzi. This interesting name is taken from paparazzi and similarly, Burgerazzi is mad over burgers. A genuine smile coming from the counter and the lovely bright graphics running across the walls perked me up instantly.
A good glance over the menu and I knew a decent burger would cost me only Rs. 25/- to start with. Well, along with Burgers there are wraps, siders, and a few drinks that one can order at this little quirky joint which celebrates burgers in this lively neighborhood of Kandivali every given day. I happened to place the wholesome four (Veg spicy burger + Mexican wrap + Cheesy fries + Cheesy pizza sticks) – and within 10-15 minutes (you might have to keep browsing over your phone for a while) the order was at the table. The small corner table at the outlet proved to be my perfect companion.
A good way of reaching Burgerazzi is a lovely ride on your scooty /bicycle or perhaps walking a little distance, instead of bringing your car as this buzzing area of Thakur village has few vacant parking spaces especially during evenings.
Opening on 1st of June (I got a flyer in the newspaper on the same day), Burgerazzi seems to have become a hit with the fast food eaters of this area. Comfortable and clean, with a very affordable pricing, so if you are looking for something beyond McDonald’s and Jumbo King, then Burgerazzi is the perfect place to enjoy some fresh and rather delectable burgers and neatly designed wraps. All of this without having any restrictions on your wallet.
The wow factors at Burgerazzi?? Well, a few phews definitely here:
- No usage of frozen meat products. All meat is procured daily and used within the day itself.
- Extremely decent pricing
- Heard of fish wraps ? No? Well, you will get all that at Burgerazzi
- Open all days a week, 9 am to 11 pm
- A wholesome combo meal only costs Rs. 110/-. Late from work and dying of hunger? You won’t find something as affordable, filling and quick to grab, than a combo meal at Burgerazzi!
- Healthier and more creative meals are going to be on the menu soon. Also, some exciting offers and a breakfast menu will be introduced soon
- The place unites all age groups – aunties and uncles, Dada-dadis, teenagers ……..and kids. All seem to enjoy everything at Burgerazzi with equal zeal and not to mention the friendly staff as well
- There was a “Make your own Burger” event organized the same day for kids at the outlet. It was wonderful to see so many kids engaged and having fun over making Burger their own way.
- The place has a personal touch, something missing at any other fast food joints
Coming to the delicious cheese pizza sticks – they were subtle, not overly bursting with flavors which is where the magic lies. With just the right amount of salt, I could taste the freshness of cheese with corn and capsicum in it. The sticks were soft with a hint of chilly that makes them perfect for kids as well. As for the cheesy fries, the breather was, they were not dripping with excess liquid cheese. For most cheesy fries once they have cooled down a bit the cheese tends to dry up and becomes lacy, wherein these fries were made in a cheese sauce which gives them a distinct glaze and that lovely cheesy flavor without killing the look and the color of the fries. They had a hint of Peri Peri masala which was added with caution, so you don’t have too much chilly, and could taste the masala and at the same time relish the cheese in it.
Generally, wraps are a little delicate to handle, but somehow the Mexican wrap here happened to be tidy, clean and not as messy as soon as I opened the cover paper. The roti was thin without any excess oil or butter, just a little hard but not something which is unpleasant to eat. The filling had a sweet and tangy taste because of the salsa sauce which was perfectly blended with the savory taste of the patty inside and veggies like onions, capsicum, and cabbage.
Somehow it felt like the healthiest wrap I had eaten till date. At last, I couldn’t wait to dig into the burger, something which I perhaps thought is the signature product at Burgerazzi. At a price of Rs. 45/-, the burger was a satisfactory piece. What was interesting was that, more than the potatoes you could taste the sweetness of onions and other veggies, crunchiness of peas and the little tanginess of the tomatoes in the filling. For a decent price, I would say it is a welcome relief from the burger you get at most places where potato tends to dominate the taste and the burgers are overpriced.
There are no desserts as of now but the thing is I am not complaining…Ahh, well but maybe a brownie or an éclair, wouldn’t hurt right? Let’s keep our hopes pinned!
As the rains stopped and I filled my tummy with some genuine goodness, I walked off Burgerazzi with a happy smile on my face too like the rest of the people.
